Urmila Matondkar is an Indian actress popular in bollywood films. She has made her screen debut as a child artist in the 1980 film Kalyug and debuted as an adult in Narasimha, 1991. She became popular with the 1995 movie “Rangeela”. She was known for her intense style and dancing skills. For her performance in the movie “Bhoot”, she has won her first Filmfare Award in the Best Actress (Critics) category.

Shine of India, the talent dance reality show produced by Rajeesh Kumar’s Mehak Movies will launch on MTV on 9 October. Urmila Matondkar will most probably be judging the show. The second judge on the show will be the Producer Rajeesh Kumar himself. The third judge is yet to be locked. The show will be hosted by Balika Vadhu fame Sheetal Khandal.
Urmila Matondkar got married to Mohsin Akhtar Mir, a Kashmiri businessman on 03 March 2016 as per Hindu rituals at Urmila’s residence. It was a private ceremony attended by family members and closest friends. They first met at designer Manish Malhotra’s niece’s wedding in 2014. Mohsin is 10 years younger to Urmila.
Urmila Matondkar’s first role as a child artist was in 1981 with the movie “Kalyug” and she achieved success at the age of 9 in Shekhar Kapur’s Masoom in 1983. She made her adult debut as an actress with the film “Bade Ghar Ki Beti”.
She next starred in the fantasy film Chamatkar, along with Shahrukh Khan. Her first film with the film director Ram Gopal Verma was Antham (Telugu), which was a bilingual film and was titled as “Drohi” (Hindi). She came into limelight for the movie Rangeela opposite Aamir Khan and Jackie Shroff. Urmila’s performance in Judaai earned her a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award nomination.
In 2011, she was seen as one of the judges on the dance reality show named Chak Dhoom Dhoom on Colors channel, along with Javed Jaffrey and Terence Lewis. In 2012, she stated her comeback with an animated Hindi feature film “Delhi Safari”. Again in 2012 she was seen as the judge on a Marathi dance reality show “Dance Maharashtra Dance” on Zee Marathi.
