Tillotama is an tollywood actress and also appears in Bollywood. She came into limelight for her acclaimed portrayal of Alice in Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding. She has won the best actress title in the New Horizons Competition of the seventh Abu Dhabi Film Festival for her role in the movie Qissa. She was seen in movies Children of War, Aatma and more. Now, she will be seen in Konkona Sen Sharma’s A Death In The Gunj.


Tillotama Shome was born in Kolkata, India. Her father is in Indian Air Force. She went to Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College and became a part of Arvind Gaur’s Asmita theatre group. She moved to New York in the Autumn of 2004 for a master’s programme in educational theatre at New York University. She returned to India after completing some outstanding projects in New York. Now she is residing in mumbai. Shome has bachelors and masters degrees in English literature from India and a second masters from NYU in Educational Theatre.
